Why I Created Therapy Unboxed

There’s a specific kind of stuck that doesn’t always look like a problem from the outside.

You’re functioning. You’re showing up. Your life, on paper, might even look good.

And still…something feels off.

“It’s a space I’ve found myself in, too.

And one I now help others navigate.”

Maybe it shows up in your relationships. Maybe in your sex life. Maybe in the constant overthinking, the irritability, the sense that you’re just… going through the motions. Not falling apart. But not fully here either.

It’s a space I’ve found myself in, too. And one I now help others navigate.

Therapy Unboxed came from recognizing a gap in how therapy is often done, especially for women and couples looking for deeper, more insight oriented work.

Too often, it focuses on managing symptoms or offering surface-level tools without really getting underneath what’s driving them.

You don’t need another list of coping skills. And you’re not here to be “fixed.”

You’re here to understand what’s actually happening, and to experience something different, not just manage better.

My approach is active, collaborative, and honest.

I’m not a blank slate therapist. I won’t just sit across from you and nod my head. I’ll ask questions that might feel a little more direct than you’re used to — not to push, but to actually get somewhere.

We slow things down, but we don’t stay stuck in circles.

The goal isn’t just insight. It’s a change that you can feel in your real life — in how you communicate, how you relate, and how you experience yourself.

A lot of my work centers around therapy for women and couples, including:

  • high-achieving women navigating anxiety, identity, and life transitions

  • couples feeling disconnected, misaligned, or stuck in the same arguments

  • sexual health, desire, and the parts of intimacy that don’t get talked about enough

You don’t have to fit perfectly into one category to belong here. If you’re here, there’s a good chance you’ve already done some level of reflection. This is just the next step, making sense of it in a way that actually moves things forward.

If this resonates, you don’t have to keep trying to figure it out on your own. You can learn more about working together below.

Therapy Unboxed is a private therapy practice based in Birmingham, Michigan, offering therapy for women, couples, and sexual health.
