What Sex Therapy Is (and Isn’t)

Sex therapy is talk therapy. There is no physical contact and no explicit behavior in session.

We discuss patterns, reactions, communication, and comfort at a pace that feels manageable. Nothing is discussed more directly than you want it to be.

How Sex Therapy Works

Sessions are structured but conversational and paced to avoid overwhelm.

We typically work on:

  • identifying relationship patterns that are maintaining the current cycle

  • reducing pressure and anticipatory anxiety

  • improving communication, timing, and clarity

  • increasing comfort with closeness

  • rebuilding connection gradually and intentionally

The goal isn’t performance or pressure — it’s comfort, understanding, and choice.

  • performance worry

  • painful or uncomfortable intimacy

  • mismatched interest between partners

  • difficulty communicating about sex

  • reconnecting intimately after life changes
